Why must everything be so complicated and confusing. I'm so tired of playing games, nothing good ever comes of them. If you want to call someone, you should just be able to call. There shouldnt be a certain number of days you need to wait, or reprecussions for calling to soon. Whats with all the f-ing rules. If only i wasnt such a big chicken! That would solve all my problems. I used to be able to just say what was on my mind. Where did all my confidence go? |

Answer is, "Because I said so..."
Sorry, but that's just the way things are in life, muddled. Life is nothing but a cumbersome chore which we all must work through to receive our reward. Sure, for some of those who believe in heaven (HA!) their reward in want sounds a bit more delicious, but not mine and not in the reality of it. No our just reward after such a turbulent, tiresome, and ofter tedious event called Life, is nothing. It's the dissolvement of ourselves. Death washes away all our grandiose illusions of relationships and the insignificant meanings we insist in placing upon them.
On a lighter note (and probably more helpful and enlightening one as well), the number of days one should or should not wait before calling someone after an exchange of phone numbers is really applied to and for guys only. For us guys, when a girl finds interest in us, we like it. When a girl calls us, it helps our self esteem or whatnot. It is a selfish answer for my sex, but it true. And the way to any guy's heart is by boosting his ego. This does not really apply to you or women in general. A guy will not want to call for a period of time because he doesn't want to give away the fact that he really likes the girl. It is a means of buffering the seriousness possibilities. It is also a means of respect. Just like a guy will, should, or at least used to wait for sexual relations until after the so-an-so date. It is a respectful act of waiting. A guy would try for it on the first date if he knew it was acceptable. The only reason for a woman not to call a guy for a couple days is because of the wish not to scare him away. Bringing it back to that seriousness deal. Guys are afraid of commitment, right? Or at least that is the social belief in general. But if you really like a guy, then why not call him? If he gets scared, then what does that say? If he does not, what does that? It's all one big grand illusion, dating that is. In the end, the goal, the answer hidden behind all the meaningless irritations, traditions, and rituals is ultimately mating and thus procreation. Like all animals we were programmed to be born, eat, fuck, have offspring, then die so that future generations can survive. It's only because of puritanical, religious, and antiquated evolutionary mores that have been instilled in our societies that we still dance the dance and not just go up and screw like dogs when we wish to.
